"Not installing Structured Wiring in a home
built in the year 2000 - would be like leaving indoor plumbing as an
afterthought in the year 1900."

and Gardens 2000

How Does
Structured Wiring Future-Proof a new home?
A Structured Wiring
System future-proofs your new home two ways. The first is by installing outlets
where you need them today, as well as, installing outlets where you'll want
them as your needs (and technologies) change. The second is through the
versatility and adaptability of a structured wiring System.
The cable and phone
companies are spending billions of dollars on each other's technologies in
an effort to try and be a one-stop shop. They want to sell you phone
service, cable TV, and High-Speed Internet all together, and at a
substantial discount (all of the services will be traveling down a single
cable/wire). The best (and maybe only) way to make sure you can take
advantage of these savings is to have a Structured Wiring System installed in
your new home.
Why Do I Need an S.W. System?
There are several
reasons to install a structured wiring System in your new home.
|
Structured
Wiring Systems are designed using the highest quality components from the
best manufacturers in the world. |
|
Your home-run
structured wiring System will allow "full" signals to the devices in your new
house without interference. |
|
Easily adapts the
wire/cable uses as technologies change. |
|
Allows you to share
a single high-speed Cable-Modem or DSL Internet account with several
computers, doing different things, simultaneously. |
|
Virtually eliminates
telephone cross-talk inside your new home (so you won't be hearing other's
conversations across multiple phone lines, AND THEY WON'T HEAR YOURS!) |
|
SAVES YOU MONEY through adaptability as
technology changes! |
|
SAVES YOU MONEY by not having to
purchase multiple video and computer components! |
|
SAVES YOU MONEY by taking advantage of
money savings when ALL services are available from a single supplier! |
Why is this wiring better?
Think of your wiring
like a hose or a pipe that handles water. The TV cable and
telephone wire coming to your home is equivalent to a fire hose.
Standard (electrician grade) TV cable and connectors are like a
garden hose. Standard phone wire (and Cat3), and the connectors, are like a
squirt gun. The problem is that as TV signals (like HDTV) and telephone
services become completely digital those faster, clearer, better signals
will require a bigger hose or pipe. (Proper Structured Wiring
Systems, keep the wiring System inside your home the same
speed as the fire hose coming into the house).
Within the next couple of years digital
cable and HDTV will become standard, and the speed of the Internet continues to
get faster,
without a proper structured wiring System you won't be able to take
advantage of ANY of these resources.
Good "true" structured wiring
Systems can handle MORE INFORMATION and TRANSMIT IT FASTER!
How Versatile is
Structured Wiring?
Structured Wiring
Systems should be designed using "star runs" or "home runs", this means that
TV cabling, Telephone Wire, and Computer Network Wiring, all start in a
Central Wiring Panel and go directly to each individual outlet.
This configuration
allows the greatest flexibility of the wiring in your new home. For example:
a telephone outlet wire-run could be used for a computer instead - to share
an ultra-high-speed Internet connection such as cable-modem. Conversely, a
computer data outlet wire-run could be switched for use as a
telephone/fax/data outlet.
How
Can Structured Wiring Save ME Money?
Video equipment such
as: DVD players, VCRs, and Laser Disk Systems, can be shared by using a
"digital modulator".
DVD Players and VCR's already have a modulator built in (the channel 3-4
switch on your unit - so many times you don't need to add another
modulator). Connect a modulator to your DVD player, and to the
distributed video cable that goes back to your Central Structured Wiring
Panel, and your DVDs can be watched on ANY TV in your house! (The same can
be done with a closed circuit security camera on your front porch or facing
the kid's swing set in your backyard.
A Structured Wiring System allows you to
network 2,3,4 or more computers together to share resources.
Have a laser printer at your office
computer? The kids can print their school reports to it from their bedrooms
or a media center, or you could print recipes to it from the Systemchen.
Out of hard drive space in an older
computer? Save files on the huge hard drive in the new computer - over the
network wiring!
Thinking of installing DSL Internet or
ultra-high-speed Cable Internet? Share that FAST Internet connection with
EVERY COMPUTER IN YOUR HOME using your in-house network!
If you need one more
reason - check into the cost of adding a few wires to connect 2-3 computers
(to share the internet) after your walls are finished.
What is "Distributed Video"?
It's a way of
transmitting signals from an expensive DVD, a VCR, a Laser Disk, or security
camera(s) to ALL of the TVs in your new home. Let's face it. DVD Players are
great, but they're expensive, and to have one in every room would cost TOO
MUCH MONEY!
For example: by adding
one of our Digital A/V Modulators, between a DVD player and distributive
video
(transmitting) outlet, that DVD signal can be sent back to a Central Structured Wiring
Service Panel, you can then watch that signal (program) at every other TV/room in
your home. Example: you and your spouse rent a DVD or VCR movie, you start
watching it on your big-screen at 9:00,
one of you wants to go to bed at 10:00 to finish the movie and the other wants to
continue watching on the big-screen, Distributed Video allows you both to
watch your movie (and have your popcorn too)!
It's a small device
that transmits the signal from a single DVD player, VCR, Satellite signal,
or security
It gets connected between a device like a DVD, and a special distributive
cable outlet that runs back into your Central Structured Wiring Service
Panel.
Let's say you have one
modulator connected to that new $300.00 DVD player you've been looking at,
and the modulator is set to channel 125. Start your DVD movie playing then
turn on the TV in your Master Bathroom across from the Jacuzzi tub, switch
it to channel 125 and you're watching the movie playing in the DVD. IT'S
THAT SIMPLE!
What can I do with
an "in-house" computer network?
People are finding
that one of the best uses of an "in-house" network is that they can share an
ultra-high-speed Internet connection such as a cable-modem, DSL, or ADSL!
By adding our
Cable/DSL Router, you can share that ultra-high-speed connection with up to
4 computers in your new home.
Mom can be e-mailing
friends from the Systemchen, Dad can be checking investments or finishing up
that big work project in his den, and the kids can be researching their
school homework in their bedrooms or the family room - ALL AT THE SAME TIME!
You can ALSO SHARE
expensive devices such as: laser & color inkjet printers, extra large hard
drives, tape drives, and CD-Rom & DVD drives.
How Will
a Structured Wiring System Protect Our New Home's Value?
Experts and
researchers alike predict that, by the year 2005, 40% or more new houses
will have Structured Wiring Systems installed in them. Taking into account
that Digital & HDTV will become standard over the next couple of years, and
the amazing growth of the Internet, if you don't install a Structured Wiring
System in your new house you will probably have fewer people interested in
buying it! (And, trying to retrofit wiring into an existing house is
extremely cost-prohibitive).
Have one of our Structured Wiring Systems
installed in your new house and have the piece of mind knowing that your new
home will retain it's value over the years.
Don't let new technology pass you by
because your home isn't ready for it.
